Florence Saku is a 1976-81 (“O” Levels) and 1981-83 (“A” Levels) graduate of OLA Secondary School. Maiden name is Aniawu and on social media, goes by Florence Aniawu Saku. Florence is currently a Biomedical Science teacher at Allegany High School in Cumberland, Maryland. Florence has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science; Master of Business Administration (MBA); and National Board Certified Teacher in Adolescence and Young Adulthood Science (NBCT AYA Science).

Florence hails from Likpe Kukurantumi in the Volta Region. Her mother is from Lipke Mate. Florence is a younger sister to the late Ms. Susan Aniawu, a former OLA teacher and housemistress.
Florence pursued Agricultural Science, with a major in Animal Science at the University of Ghana, Legon. In 1989, Florence joined her husband in Canada for a period of seven years, living in Waterloo, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Peterborough, Ontario.
In 1996, her family moved to the USA in Frostburg, Maryland, where they have lived since. Florence obtained her MBA from Frostburg State University, and Biomedical Science certifications from Stevenson University, Owings Mills, Maryland. NBCT was through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Arlington, Virginia.
Florence is married to James and they have a daughter and two sons. Daughter is a Biology teacher in Virginia, second child is a medical student in Virginia, and the third child is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering in Maryland. James is a Geography Professor at Frostburg State University.
